Maddie Tight-Alfiero, DPT, OCS
Maddie Tight-Alfiero earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Montana. While there, she became certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). She brings a deep well of knowledge and experience to her practice by further refining her expertise and becoming an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) in 2022. Maddie’s personal journey has shaped her approach to helping others achieve their goals. During her undergraduate years she was a dual sport athlete, playing soccer and running mid-distance track for Colby College. After Colby, she moved back to the Bay Area and embraced ultra running on the trails where she grew up in Marin County, and continues to enjoy gravel biking, skiing, yoga, weight lifting, and running. She aims to translate her learned experiences to optimize both performance and healthspan within the community.
At Panoramic Physio, Maddie promotes a fitness-forward approach. Through dissecting the research in addition personal trial and error, Maddie has come to the conclusion that in order for each individual to reduce injury risk, restore function, and meet their target goals, a balanced approach of mobility, strength, and recovery, provides the strongest, most resilient, structure. She enjoys working with all ages - from the high school athlete managing overuse injuries, to the chronic tendon or back pain later on in life. Her main goal is to get people moving and stay active and healthy through all decades.
Maddie is committed to educating and empowering athletes. While working at Agile Physical Therapy, she was the Director of the Running Assessment program, and a part of Agile’s running team who worked to disseminate the latest literature so patients could be certain they were getting up to date care. She has teamed up with Stanford’s FASTR (Female Athlete Science and Translational Research) program, as well as Montana Running Lab, to give talks to the community regarding the importance of strength training for the high school runner. She has worked with NCAA and Olympic-level athletes and knows firsthand how important movement is—not just for performance, but for longevity and joy in life.
